CCR:

Blog Post #19

This is my second to last post I have comepletely finished the magazine, but I am still working on the CCR. I have only finished the first question of it. I made a separate google docs where I am writing all the answers to the questions there, so when I am doing the recording I have some sort of dialogue to go off from, if not it would be hard to just start randomly answering the questions of the top of my head in that moment.

Here is the final product of my magazine:

Blog Post #18

The deadline for this project is getting closer and closer and I am begging to think i'm not going to finish. I have finished the cover page and most of the two page spread. I am going to be attaching screenshots of the progress I have made on the magazine for you all to see.

Blog Post #17

Today I spoke to my other group members about the CCR. Even tho it is a individual project we all talked in our group chat about how we can each answer some of the questions using each others magazines. This weekend I had to work almost 18 hours so I did not have a lot of time to think about my project, and this is not good because I am falling behind and it is due in 6 days.

Blog Post #16

Today I began to do research on what I will be writing inside the two page spread. I will be using texts from these websites https://www.adventure-life.com/panama/articles/panama-overview , https://www.worldnomads.com/travel-safety/central-america/panama/crime-and-drugs-panama . I think I like the idea of how I can write about Panama's wildlife and discuss the beauty of the jungle island it is. This is why so many tourists come here is to visit the jungles and beaches of the country.

Blog Post #15

I've been looking for what to do on the two page spread, but I am still unsure on what I am going to do. I have talked to one of my group members and I may do what he did. He made his two page spread about his "Featured location" I think I will be doing mine like his. I'll be talking about Panama in it. So I will soon begin doing research on Panama and finding a good way to talk about it.

Blog Post #13

Today in class we had another class discussion!
I was very excited in showing my classmates my progress. I showed them my cover and the pictures that I would feature in the magazine. I received very useful feedback though, they said that I should research how specific locations should differ in their colors and schemes and model my cover after that.

Blog Post #12

Hey bloggers!
Today i came across a two-page spread and i'd like to model my own after this one.
This spread was out of "Hola!" magazine from Spain. In the spread they use multiple pictures to highlight the underlying picture and it just clicked and made perfect sense to me.

When I have finalized my magazine I will upload it to the blog share my opinions on how it came out.
Next up is researching material to write about in my spread and writing it.

Blog post #11

Hey bloggers!
I did some research today on the colors that would best highlight the magazine title and  I have to show my partners the colors and why we should use them. The colors should be used in every issue that we use in order to let the audience recognize our magazines by seeing our font and colors. Here is a link I found describing the color yellow which is what the main font color of our magazine is going to be.http://www.cabinetmagazine.org/issues/21/thompson.phpIn this article it talks about how yellow can highlight things in a way where it can convey different meanings. These meanings all depend on the reader. Therefore I want to have the color yellow as out font color for the magazine header.

Hey blog!

Tomorrow I will be working all day and all night at my real job. Today i will be working all day and all night on this blog and this project.

Today  I began brainstorming on my two-page spread and how I would like it to be laid out. I concluded my magazine will include 100 pages 3 of which will be turned in for this project.

Also a few ideas that I want to write about on the magazine are:
The night life in Panama
Best beaches
and the Canal

Blog post #8

I have finalized my cover today!
Below I will drop a picture of my cover and explain it.

Location is the title that we decided upon and Panama is my issue. The picture I used on the cover is a picture from "Playa Venao" about 5 hours away from the city. It is a tourist hotspot for those who want to see the country for what it is and for those who want to get away from the chaos of the city.

Blog post #7

Today I made my cover on Canva, a website designed to make magazine covers, it is quite difficult to use. My partners and I are all having trouble getting a hold on how exactly to use everything. On my next post I will upload a picture of my cover and will explain my choices for everything.

On another note my group and I have done some research on how to do a two page spread here's the link which we used.

Blog Post #6

Hello bloggers!

Today in class we had a feedback session in which the class was divided into 5 or 6 small groups and we all gave feedback on each others projects. In this class I realized I had to make my blog posts more extensive and more creative.

I will start creating my magazine cover today and hopefully have another feedback session in a few weeks so I can show my progress not only with the people following my blog, but with people who can give their opinion on my project.

I have yet decided on a font or a color for which I will use throughout my magazine.

Blog post #5

Today we went over a few ideas in what to title our magazine.
Here are a few:

Location
Journey
Explore
Destination

There are a few more but I do not want to bore you. Next class my group and I will decide and take a vote on which title we will be using. Also we all have the destinations that we will use to make each issue.

See you in a few days bloggers!

Blog post #2

Hello my fellow bloggers, I had a quite interesting day in class today. My partners and I have started to debate on the destinations we should use on our magazines. The only problem with some of these destinations is the lack of pictures we all have of them. Some of the destinations we had in mind were:

  • (Zermatt, Switzerland)
  • (Cancun, Mexico)
  • (Madrid, Spain)
  • (Paris, France)
  • (Venice, Italy)
I also was thinking about adding Panamá to the list because of the time I spent living there. I have enough pictures to make a magazine cover and a beautiful two-page spread. Tomorrow I will ask my partners if we can use it.

An update will be posted in the next few days.

Friday, March 2, 2018

Hello!

Hello bloggers, first off I would like to thank you for taking the time out of your day and for taking an interest in my personal blog. This will be a blog on my two partners and I's journey on creating our very own travel magazine. On this blog I will be posting three times a week; those posts will consist of our ideas and the direction in which the magazine project is going.

This project will take copious amounts of work and imagination in order for it to be successful. In saying that, next class we will set a list of the things that need to be done and divide them adequately.
